Mount Pleasant CemeteryFallen soldiers and historic flights. A gunshot that penetrated the heart of the Depression. The fiery end of the Queen of the Island Seas. These are just a few of the stories waiting to be remembered at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Mount Pleasant is well-suited in it’s role as guardian of Toronto's past. Built in 1876 through the impetus of the community, Mount Pleasant became Toronto’s largest non-denominational cemetery - welcoming any and all inside its wrought iron gates. Many people love the cemetery as a place of peaceful recreation, but do not imagine the drama and excitement that surround them. This half-hour documentary blends the cemetery’s history with the fascinating stories from Toronto’s and Canada’s past that lie buried there.
